Once an Instagram Reel has been transcribed, you can copy the text or export a file. The best choice depends on whether you need readable notes, editable copy, timed subtitles, or a fixed document.
Copy the transcript for immediate use
Use Copy text when you want the complete spoken text on the clipboard. This is the fastest route for research notes, a draft outline, quote review, or a searchable project document.
After pasting, add the source Reel URL and creator name to your notes. Keeping the source beside the text makes later verification much easier. Before publishing, compare names, numbers, and quotations against the original audio.

Download the appropriate format
Choose a format according to the destination:
- TXT: plain text with broad compatibility; useful for notes, archives, and text analysis.
- SRT: numbered subtitle cues with timestamps; widely accepted by video editors and publishing platforms.
- VTT: timed captions designed for HTML video and many web workflows.
- DOC: editable document formatting when this export is enabled for your account.
- PDF: fixed-layout sharing or review when this export is enabled.

Check the file before publishing
Exporting does not make an automated transcript final. Open the file and inspect:
- speaker names and proper nouns;
- numbers, dates, prices, and measurements;
- timing around fast speech or long pauses;
- lines affected by music or overlapping voices;
- punctuation that changes the meaning.
For subtitles, also check reading speed and line breaks inside the destination editor. A technically valid SRT file can still be difficult to read if a cue contains too much text.
Download before the result expires
Anonymous transcript results expire within 24 hours. Signed-in results expire within seven days. Export files follow the same retention window, so download required files while the result is available.
You can delete a transcript sooner. Store exported text only where appropriate for your work, and do not republish a creator's content without the necessary rights or permission.
